Bite Size and Childhood Obesity

After watching the documentary, Bite Size, I learned how little the parents care about their children’s food choice and healthy habits. The children’s life’s are so dependent upon them selves. They have to make their own decisions to get up from playing a video game and go play outside. They have to make their own decisions about what they are going to eat. Some barriers that they face are just not wanting to make a change. Like the girl eating the watermelon, she knew it was wrong yet she didn’t want/know how to change it. I think some of the kids could have been more involved and had more social time with friends and kids their age to help with being more active and actually taking the initiative to get outside and play. This documentary made me realize how much the parents effect the child. They are putting them down more than lifting them up by telling them they need to be healthier, yet they aren’t changing anything about their lifestyles to help the kids out. I see childhood obesity as really sad.
